GREATER IPSWICH IS HAVING A MOMENT

And the numbers tell a pretty compelling story.

Today we're putting the spotlight on one of the regions firmly on our radar at Core Group International - Greater Ipswich.

From Ripley and South Ripley to White Rock, Deebing Heights, Redbank Plains, and Collingwood Park, this is a region experiencing significant population growth, new housing, infrastructure investment and community expansion.

And some of the latest numbers are hard to ignore.

  • ๐Ÿ“ Ipswich was Queensland's fastest-growing local government area in 2024โ€“25
  • ๐Ÿ“ Ripley was Queensland's fastest-growing statistical area, recording extraordinary annual population growth of 15.4%, adding more than 3,100 residents in just 12 months.
  • ๐Ÿ“ Ipswich's population is forecast to reach approximately 533,000 by 2046 - close to double its current population - with planning identifying the need for around 106,000 additional homes and at least 75,000 additional jobs as the city grows.
  • ๐Ÿ“ The Ripley Valley Priority Development Area alone covers approximately 4,860 hectares and is planned to ultimately accommodate around 135,000 people and 50,000 dwellings.

And infrastructure is moving with it.

Ipswich City Council's 2026โ€“27 budget includes more than $210 million for roads, facilities and open spaces, with $108 million over three years allocated to stages one and two of the Ripley Road upgrade.

But numbers are only part of the story.

What makes Greater Ipswich interesting to us is the combination of growth + lifestyle + accessibility + new housing opportunity.

New communities. Family-friendly neighbourhoods. Parks and open space. Growing retail and amenity. Employment across healthcare, education, manufacturing and the wider Ipswich economy. And connectivity into the broader South East Queensland region.

Ipswich already has an economy valued by Council at around $15 billion, with more than 13,000 businesses and 95,000 jobs.

For homeowners, it's about the opportunity to put down roots in communities that are continuing to evolve.

For investors, it's about understanding the fundamentals behind that growth - population, housing demand, infrastructure, employment, connectivity and supply - rather than simply chasing the next so-called โ€œhotspot.โ€

At Core Group International, we're continuing to grow our house & land opportunities throughout the Greater Ipswich region.

Population growth and infrastructure investment do not guarantee future property performance. Buyers should undertake their own due diligence.
